After many years of dormancy, Zombie Logic Press has begun stirring again.
For readers who remember the small press poetry scene of the 1990s and 2000s, Zombie Logic Press was once one of those stubborn little independent ventures that existed because poetry needed places to happen. It published books, chapbooks, journals, strange projects, local voices, and work that did not always fit neatly into the available boxes.
Now, as part of a broader return to publishing, writing, and small-press work, Zombie Logic Press is being revived as an archive, a literary presence, and a companion project to Wolf Twin Books, the independent press I co-founded with artist Tré.
That revival begins in earnest with the release of my new haiku collection, Vanished Roads.
Published by Wolf Twin Books, Vanished Roads gathers 104 haiku written during a period of personal upheaval, pandemic isolation, illness, grief, study, and renewal. What began as a daily practice gradually became a book about learning to continue when the old roads disappear.
The collection is also a collaboration. Tré designed the cover and created eight original interior illustrations for the book, giving Vanished Roads a visual world that deepens its movement through loss, nature, impermanence, and attention.
In recent years, my haiku have appeared in journals including The Heron’s Nest, Modern Haiku, Presence, Acorn, and Mayfly. But Vanished Roads feels less like a résumé item than a record of survival, practice, and arrival. It is not a book about finding the way back. It is about discovering what remains when the way back no longer exists.
The return of Zombie Logic Press and the growth of Wolf Twin Books are connected by the same impulse: to make room for poetry, art, collaboration, and books that might otherwise vanish into the noise.
