Elizabeth Harper lives in Chicago and has been reading her poems in bars (and coffeehouses and rock clubs and art galleries and churches and other places of direpute) for several years. She is a member of PolyRhythmic: A Chicago Arts Collective, which hosts a late-nite open mic night on Tuesdays. She participated in the Chicago Calling Arts Festival in 2006, 2007, and 2008. In April 2008, she participated in Poetry Bomb by reading poetry at the top of her lungs in front of Chicago's Water Tower and probably will again this year. Her two books of poetry are Love Songs from Psychopaths and Fairy Tales Gone Awry.

Daniel Godston teaches and lives in Chicago. His writings have appeared in Chase Park, After Hours, Versal, Drunken Boat, 580 Split, Kyoto Journal, Eratica, The Smoking Poet, Horse Less Review, and other print publications and online journals. He also composes and performs music, and he works with the Borderbend Arts Collective to organize the annual Chicago Calling Arts Festival.

Jennifer Karmin's text-sound epic, Aaaaaaaaaaalice, will be published by Flim Forum Press in 2009. She curates the Red Rover Series and is co-founder of the public art group Anti Gravity Surprise. Her multidisciplinary projects have been presented nationally at festivals, artist-run spaces, and on city streets. Karmin teaches creative writing to immigrants at Truman College and works as a Poet-in-Residence for the Chicago Public Schools. New poems are published in Cannot Exist, MoonLit, Otoliths, Come Together: Imagine Peace (Bottom Dog Press) and Not A Muse (Haven Books).

Larry Sawyer curates the Myopic Books reading series in Wicker Park, Chicago. Chapbooks include Poems for Peace (Structum Press), A Chaise Lounge in Hell (aboveground press), Tyrannosaurus Ant (mother's milk press), which was recently included in the Yale Collection of American Literature, and Disharmonium (Silver Wonder Press). His work was also recently included in The City Visible: Chicago Poetry for the New Century (Cracked Slab Books) and A Writers’ Congress: Chicago Poets on Barack Obama’s Inauguration (DePaul Humanities Center Press). Melissa SEVERIN lives in Chicago and works in search engine marketing. She earned her MFA in Poetry from New England College and is managing editor for Switchback Books. Her poems have appeared in MoonLit, 42Opus, and The Cultural Society. She is also the author of Brute Fact (Dancing Girl Press, 2008).

Carrie Olivia ADAMS works as a book publicist in Chicago, where she also serves as poetry editor for Black Ocean and Hunger Mountain. Her poems and reviews have appeared in such journals as Backwards City Review, Cranky, DIAGRAM, Lilies and Cannonballs Review, and Verse. She is the author of Intervening Absence (Ahsahta Press 2009) and the chapbook “A Useless Window.”

Becca Klaver was born in Milwaukee, WI, and graduated from the University of Southern California and Columbia College Chicago, where she now works and teaches. Recent work appears in Coconut, Copper Nickel, The Hat, No Tell Motel and the anthology DIAGRAM III. Her chapbook, Inside a Red Corvette: A 90s Mix Tape, was published by the greying ghost press. She is a Founding Editor for Switchback Books.

Hanna Andrews is a native New Yorker and graduated from Sarah Lawrence College. She received her MFA from Columbia College Chicago, where she currently teaches poetry and college writing. Recent work has appeared in Caketrain, DIAGRAM, Foursquare and Word for/Word, and she was a 2008 Ruth Lilly Poetry Fellowship finalist. A Founding Editor for Switchback Books, her chapbook, a/long/division, was published in 2009 by Tilt Press.

Chad HELTZEL’s poems have appeared in In Other Words, and are forthcoming in Blue Unicorn and Faultline. He is a co-editor of the online journal Little Red Leaves and poetry editor of Packingtown Review. He lives in Chicago.

Garrett J. BROWN is the author of Manna Sifting, which won the 2009 Liam Rector First Book Prize from Briery Creek Press. He was also the winner of the 11th Annual Juried Reading Contest from the Poetry Center of Chicago. His poems have appeared in such journals as Natural Bridge, American Poetry Journal, Pif Magazine, and others. A native of Baltimore, Garrett moved to Chicago in 1998 to attend the School of the Art Institute and is currently finishing his PhD at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
